Bioworld + Rocky Garza

Proposal FEbruary 2019

Leadership can either be the most difficult or the more freeing part of our work world. It can be the catalyst to not only provide us with a much needed change, but to continue to live into who we were created to be or it can be a selfish and lonely road for us and our teams. By starting with a solid foundation, our signature Team Identity Mapping process, we spent our 1st day not only identifying what makes each of you unique but how that uniqueness can be used to take your leadership to the next level.

After spending some time with you I believe the following to be the best next steps to improve communication, overall team dynamic, freeing you to do what you do best and increase effectiveness of all employees. As Bioworld continues to grow and develop we must continue to invest internally in order to produce the best product possible for our customer and community.

6 Months

STEP 1: Team Identity Mapping {COMPLETE}

approx. 16 hours

It is our belief that in order to make any effective change, then we must start be rebuilding the foundation that we each stand on as a unique individual. Before we can build a team, increase effectiveness and ultimately raise the bottom line, we must start by fully understanding ourselves and one another. We will do this by spending a full day together off site with the Chief Team.

8:30 - Breakfast & hand Poured Chemex Coffee

9:00 - Thoughts, Fears, Hopes, Dreams + Values

12:00 - Family Style Lunch

12:30 - Strengths, Awareness, Leadership + Application

5:00 - All Done & Conquer the World

  • 8 hours of TEAM assessment and unplugged intentionality

  • Identifying Core Values - WHY you do what you do

  • Assessing Strengths - HOW you do what you do

  • Owning Self-Awareness - WHAT you are actually doing

  • Team Dynamics - Identifying how your team works best

STEP 2: 1-on-1 Meeting with Each Executive Member (Rocky)

approx. 20 hours total

Now that we have completed our team assessment and walked each member through our Identity Mapping Process I will meet with each team member 1-on-1 to determine a development plan to look at strengths, areas for growth and defining team culture.

Each member will have a 60-minute coaching session with Rocky each. Along with these Rocky will meet with Raj for a 2 hour follow up to update on all staff and suggested plans.

STEP 3: Strategic Business Planning (Peter)

approx. 20 hours total

I suggest that the next step is Peter taking Raj through an 8 hour 1-Day strategic session in order to get all of his ideas and thoughts out and put into a strategic business plan. Peter has been a consultant for the last 10 years and is the best I know at strategic business planning and execution. He has worked with many Fortune 500 companies and I believe he is what Bioworld needs.

After the 1-day with Raj, Peter will host a 2nd 8-hour day with the necessary leaders (executive team of Raj/Rocky’s choosing to finalize strategic plan and goals for 2019-2020. Once created we will begin the communication to all executive staff and then all employees.

Step 4: Culture Development (Rocky)

approx. 60 hours total

Dawn is possibly one of the most intentional and caring HR directors I have met. Her desire to create a lasting and impactful culture is evident in her speech and most of all in her actions. She knows what the team and employees want but she needs help. She can’t do it all alone, nor can she create the content needed to really make the difference. Rocky will work with Dawn 1-on-1 to create culture documents, content and strategic plans to roll out and implement Launch 2020.

Culture Development includes but is not limited to: development plans, monthly/quarterly/yearly assessment guides, social events, personalized monthly culture content and culture and brand guide.

Step 5: Monthly Coaching (Rocky)

approx. 60 hours total

I believe the staff at Bioworld is poised and ready to take the next step in their development. Raj, you have created an incredible company and I know we have found what makes each member of your executive staff tick. Now, it is a matter of getting you out of the weeds and into your sweet spot. Rocky will provide monthly coaching for the members of the team who need it most. Raj and Rocky to decide on who to coach each month. Raj to be included in coaching every month.

Rocky led a full-day team transformation experience for the me and my direct reports, the People & Culture Leadership team of Grant Thornton. The focus of the work was preparing the team for a leadership transition given my planned departure through the exploration of our individual and collective values, strengths and powers. Rocky skillfully orchestrated an experience that was intimate, raw and empowering. His deep listening skills coupled with his authentic approach to engaging created the ideal environment for the team to participate vulnerably and whole-heartedly. In his opening, Rocky claimed, "at the end of the day you will know yourself more deeply than you ever have." Without exception, we did! I highly recommendRocky Garza to any individual or team who is looking to become known, seen and empowered not through gimmicks but through real conversation.

I've been to a lot of "workshops" and team building "off sites" over the last 12 years. Today our leadership team spent the day with Rocky and this is the best I've experienced. Rocky has an unique gift for helping individuals and teams give words to their core values and strengths while providing practical, actionable takeaways that lead to greater influence and impact. If you lead a team and are looking for an incredible resource to increase the scope of your group's impact, you have to check out Rocky!

With just a brief orientation, Rocky ‘got us.’ He delivered a session to our leadership team regarding core values and discovering our why. He was able to effectively weave our strategic meeting themes through the session which resulted in a fantastic kick-off to our team’s time together. Rocky effortlessly engaged the team from the first minute and created a safe space to share and continue the dialogue even after our time with him was over. I would highly recommend Staff Retreat Co. and Rocky to any organization looking to build a dynamic and highly engaged team/organization.

If I could describe having Rocky lead our annual leaderhsip confernce, I would say “incredible”. He lead our opening keynote, lead an afternoon breakout session and closed the conference the next day. It was a powerful to say the least and honestly, the way he closed it left out entire 100+ leaders in a standing ovation. He fully immersed himself in our culture and custom fit all the sessions to our staff perfect. He is a MUST hire.

"Our time with Rocky exceeded my expectations. As a manager, I was thrilled to see my team fully embrace the process and let their guards down to get the best possible experience. In a corporate setting, it's rare to be so honest and vulnerable with your co-workers. Rocky encouraged all of us to dig deeper, communicate effectively and how to treat one another through our identity mapping discoveries. I saw this as an investment in my people- personally and professionally. Rocky was the perfect person to guide us through this process and I cannot think of a better way to spend a day outside of the office!"

Identity Maps - We will create 1 of these for each staff member, as well as a Team Leader Booklet for each Team Leader.
